In DreadCraft, adornments are more than decoration — they are talismans, sigils, and conduits of intention. Beads, threads, charms, and rings can carry energy: protection, strength, love, or creativity. Each choice is deliberate & each placement a ritual, weaving magic into dreadlocks strand by strand.

Crafted adornments honor the sacredness of the locks. They can be sourced from natural materials like wood, stone, bone, shells, or metal, or imbued with personal significance: a charm from an ancestor, a bead gifted in ceremony, a thread dyed with intention. Every adorned dreadlock becomes a living incantation, binding the wearer and the decoration in mutual energy.

For locticians, adorning the crown is an act of ritual co-creation. Offering clients choices, sharing their meanings, and placing items with intention transforms styling into ceremony. Crafted Adornments Ritual Guide

1. Choose with Intention

   • Select beads, charms, rings, or threads that resonate with your purpose - protection, creativity, love, or personal power.

   • Consider natural materials or items with personal or ancestral significance.

   2. Cleanse & Charge

   • Pass the items through smoke, moonlight, sunlight, or sprinkle with a ritual herb blend to cleanse and charge them.

   • Whisper or silently affirm your intention for each adornment: “This carries strength and protection for my crown.”

   3. Consecrate the Crown

   • Hold the selected dreadlock gently and visualize energy spiraling through.

   • Imagine the adornments connecting with the crown’s spirit, weaving energy and intention strand by strand.

   4. Placement Ceremony

   • Slowly and deliberately place each bead, charm, or thread, infusing it with focus and intention.

   • Touch the crown lightly after placement, visualizing the energy anchoring within the locks.

   • Optionally, speak a short affirmation or chant for each item:
     “With this adornment, I weave magic, strength, and protection into my/your crown.”

   5. Seal & Offer Gratitude

   • Place hands over the crown and silently thank the spirit of your hair and the adornments.

   • Optionally, light a candle, ring a bell, or breathe over the locks to seal the ritual energy.

   How to Use:

   • Add a jump ring, or thread/wrap small items into dreadlocks, braid with intention to create charms that hang from locks.

   • Drill a hole into a tree branch, stone or shell - use 0.6-1.0 mm drill bits suitable for wood. Slide onto your chosen dreadlock.

   • Remove adornments when washing or submerging your locks in water to preserve them - natural items may deteriorate with frequent wetting.

   • Cleanse, bless, or charge items before placement (smoke, sunlight/moonlight, herbs, or visualization).

   • Each item carries its vibration; combine them thoughtfully to align with the wearer’s personal intention.
