After 20+ years owning and operating multiple dreadlock studios in Australia, as well as running the original SistaSystem™ dread school,
in 2024 Nazy & Bonn retired from the dreadlock industry. Their legacy has passed onto Sharna from VALHALLA HAIR, former student of the SSDTA & Level 2 Trainer, with the intention of Sharna hosting these course/s and continuing to promote “dreaducation”, community and empowerment to others
interested in learning dreadcraft on a professional and personal level.

The FULL Pro Lokktician Course is a complete package of 13 units that teaches you everything you need to know in order to create and maintain clients’ dreadlocks using our respected and sought-after SistaSystem method. It also provides you with a Pro Lokktician Tool Kit worth $100 filled with all the supplies needed to pass assessments & be ready for clients, learning support, Certification & ongoing promotion that you will need to launch and prosper in your own small business.
ORIENTATION - THE HISTORY OF LOKKS
This unit kick-starts the course, and guides you into the ancestral roots of dreadlocks - a sacred journey across time, continents, and cultures. Lokks are not just a hairstyle, they are a living thread connecting people to their spirituality, resistance, identity, and heritage. Your research will also give you the language and understanding to speak confidently and respectfully when conversations about cultural appropriation arise. As a Lokktician, it’s your duty not only to create with intention but to educate with compassion. When clients or peers ask questions about whether dreadlocks are “okay” to wear, you’ll be equipped to share nuanced, informed insights that honour the cultural and spiritual significance of this ancient practice.
UNIT 1- OHS
Before you begin learning the SistaSystem technique, it’s vital to understand the sacred responsibility of caring for your body. Your hands, spine, and feet are your true tools of the trade — and without them, the craft cannot flow. Occupational Health & Safety in this work is not just practical, it’s a ritual of preservation. To avoid injury and protect your energy, you must honour your body with the same care you give to your clients. Self-care isn’t optional. It’s part of the magic.
UNIT 2- HOLDING THE HOOK
This unit reveals why the way you hold your hook is the first key to mastering your craft. When done right, it protects your hands from strain, gives you greater control for a gentler, pain-free client experience, and helps prevent your tools from breaking. It all begins in your grip — the foundation of safe, skilful dreadwork.
UNIT 3- PROCESS
This may be the most important video you’ll watch in the entire SistaSystem journey — the one that shows you exactly how the lokking is truly done. This is the heart of the craft, revealed.
UNIT 4- MAKING A LOKK RING
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
Clients often tell us how professional we are, and it starts long before they sit in the chair. We always prepare ahead of time, and one of our essential tools is the Lokk Size Ring. It helps clients visually understand lokk sizes and make informed choices. You’ll use this tool for years to come, which is why we recommend crafting it from durable synthetic hair.
UNIT 5- BASE MAINTENANCE
In this unit, you’ll need a friend or client to complete your base maintenance assessment. We’ll guide you through the full process of maintaining bases or roots, while exploring how hair type and the number of lokks can affect the time and approach needed.
UNIT 6- LENGTH MAINTENANCE
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
Length Maintenance is the sacred art of refining the lokk’s form by drawing in stray strands, smoothing bumps, and guiding each lokk into its true shape. In the first 6 months of the journey, this ritual is more frequent, as the lokks are still awakening, stretching, and learning to hold their magic.
UNIT 7- SECTIONING
As you deepen your practice with the SistaSystem technique, begin to embrace the sacred geometry of the scalp and sectioning - a powerful way to connect your energy with that of your client and the world around you. Our unique triangle sectioning mirrors the “Flower of Life”, an ancient symbol that reveals how all things are intertwined. Through this pattern, we honor the flow of energy, unity, and the shared bond that transforms each lokk into a living expression of connection and care.
UNIT 8- DECORATE
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
Adorning dreadlocks with wrapping, beads, and enchanting accessories is a beautiful way to offer your clients a truly personalized experience. By crafting custom styles that celebrate their unique spirit and individuality, you create more than just a look—you weave a story of self-expression and connection that keeps them coming back, drawn by the magic you bring to their crown.
UNIT 9- ATTACHING EXTENSIONS
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
We guide you in the sacred art of intentional dreadcraft, teaching you how to seamlessly attach permanent dreadlock extensions, breathing new length and volume into your client’s existing lokks, transforming their crown with purpose and care.
UNIT 10- LOKK SURGERY
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
As you journey through maintaining your clients’ lokks, you will encounter many challenges along the way. Knowing how to heal and restore, whether it’s matting, congos, misaligned sectioning, or delicate weak spots, is essential. This comprehensive guide unveils the wisdom to recognize and mend the most common trials, ensuring your craft remains strong and your clients’ crowns flourish.
UNIT 11- FOLLICLE & SCALP HEALTH
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
Understanding the sacred balance of hair health and integrity will deeply enrich your journey as a professional lokktician. Conditions like dandruff, dermatitis, and scalp sensitivities can cloud your clients’ desire to embrace or maintain their lokks. That’s why we share these vital teachings so you may confidently guide and support your clients with wisdom, offering natural remedies and care that nurture their crowns and keep their lokks thriving in radiant health.
UNIT 12- CONSULTATIONS
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
The Consultation Appointment is a sacred moment in your professional journey—a powerful first step where connection and trust are born. We guide you in mastering the art of this initial encounter, teaching best practices to ensure your client feels seen, heard, and inspired to not only book with you but return again and again, drawn by the magic you create together.
UNIT 13- BUSINESS SET-UP
(FULL COURSE ONLY)
We walk beside you on the path to becoming a sole trader and launching your dream business in Australia. From registering your business and securing your ABN, to mastering bookings, bookkeeping, website creation, and social media magic - we equip you with the essential steps to bring your vision & new career to life and share your craft with the world.
You will have access to either online course for 12 weeks, and Group Membership for as long as you need!
